We gathered one night to "burn your own" so we shared our grills, food, and experiences of the day after we grilled our own. Mike, Bernie, and Betty cook their supper.
We all even managed to eat about the same time!!
It is no wonder the Buffalo was named a national scenic river. The campground at Buffalo Point provided a good spot with electricity to camp for a week.
I joined in for the Buffalo River float at Buffalo Point in April.
After Buffalo Point a beautiful drive through the Ozarks led to Mtn. View, Arkansas where we spent a few days at Sylamore Creek Campground. For several years the WINS have gathered here in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. 
We knew rain was in the forecast but we had no idea how much. The next morning Sylamore Creek was muddy and rising.
Several of us had parked down along the creek and I decided to give up my favorite spot about 6 am.
It wasn't long before even the post and grill disappeared, as did the steps that were ripped from the bank. We spent most of the day watching the creek rise.
Guy, the campground owner watches as his "host" brings the canoes up the driveway. They had been up all night to be sure we were safe!
There was still plenty to do in the area.. we didn't miss Blanchard Springs Caverns, music on the square, Jimmy Driftwood's barn, dancing in town, the Ozark Folk Center, or eating in Fifty Six. The folks in Calico Rock gathered along the White River each day and waited for it to crest. The WINs traveled on to Missouri and I headed south.
