Just ten minutes south of Rockport is Aransas Pass. Aransas Pass was organized in 1909 and now is a community of 7,500 also located 21 miles northeast of Corpus Christi. Aransas Pass boasts the world's largest shrimping facilities at Conn Brown Harbor. Redfish, speckled trout, drum, sheepshead and flounder abound in the bays. A short drive east is the ferry that takes you across the bay to Port Aransas.

The community park is built where the old county dump was and is an excellent spot to kayak in the estuary and view birds, snails, crabs, fish, etc. from their level.
Colorful broken glass litters the ground under the water left from the old dump.
