Blue Spring is the 8th largest Missouri Spring. The water at blue spring is supposed to be the deepest blue color of any spring in Missouri and I sure believe it. The spring and the 17 acres surrounding it have been designated as a natural area. There is a trail down to the spring and this was well worth seeing .. vibrant greens and blues nestled in the deep woods.
The WIN candle burned brightly one evening. Who would believe the wick is actually an rv'ers best friend .. duct tape!
Ron, Susan, Earl, Myra, Annie, and Jan went on this float on the Jack's Fork River from Buck's Hollow to Rymer's. What we thought would take 3 hours turned out to be more than a 4 hour float with us paddling like crazy to beat a rain shower and give the others a chance to use the kayaks. Needless to say they didn't get to float. But it was a good float with a lot of small rapids and one partially submerged tree that caught us all.
Another float was from the campground to the access point between Woody's canoe rentals and the bridge in Eminence. It was a calm two hour float with some nice little rapids and a decent current.
The kayaking group next ventured to Alley Springs located on the Jack's Fork River. Earl and Jan wasted no time enjoying the 1/2 mile trail around the spring.
We were disappointed to find that the mill would not open until Memorial Day.
Another treat was Rocky Falls, a good place for a picnic if one had known ahead of time.
There were several springs in the area which called for little day trips. One was to Round Spring.
