Lake Martin is located just south of Breaux Bridge off Hway 31. It is quite a nature lover's paradise. Five carloads of FreeRoaders were enthralled on a trip to the lake.
The males egrets would fly across the road we were on to choose twigs for their nests.
Thousands of egrets were nesting in the rookery.
The Egret rookery, a first for me.
We saw many gators that have begun coming out in the warm temperatures.
A nutria weaving thru the water plants.
We counted perhaps 25 Roseatte Spoonbills that were just beginning to come to the rookery.
