After a drive thru Redstone, a quaint little tourist mecca, the Bogan Flats campground was a pleasant surprise. Managed to find a nice spot alongside the Crystal River in the crowded campground. I felt like a statue standing on a large slab of marble fishing in the Crystal River. These slabs had been thrown on the hillsides to prevent erosion. Although the water was low some deep holes did provide some trout. Marble is another quaint old Colorado town with, of course, a marble quarry.
August arrived and I arrived back home. Even with the low water levels and fires in parts of Colorado, it was an excellent month of fishing, all catch and release, of course.
